The last 7 years supporting a major government project throughout the UK, installing and configuring desktops, laptops and servers using different versions of Microsoft OS, incorporating ITIL, UPM and ISO Quality system methodologies. Achievements
· Created a Configuration Management Database along with impact analyses documentation for key systems. · Integrated ITBM Touchpaper with LANDesk management suite and created documentation and trained permanent staff for its maintenance. · Conducted a study into improving the support systems, asset management and procurement processes for a Staffordshire County Council. · Lead a project for a premises move. Organised the installation of telephone and data cabling throughout the new premises and built several servers for the new premises including Citrix and Exchange. Organised the installation of several broadband connections allowing for the use of site to site VPN connections for various remote sites. · Transformed a handheld device software package and engineered the software tailoring it for the customers use. Allowing them to become paper free and paving the way for more devices to be used in other departments within South Shropshire’s housing repair and maintenance department. · Formed a limited company of which I am a director dealing with every part of the business. · Worked in second/third line support role as a domain was successfully migrated from an NT4 infrastructure to a Windows 2003 infrastructure across around 30 sites for around 60,000 users throughout the UK. · Coded several visual basic applications for use by users and other technicians to change configuration settings quickly and simply, saving the both the 1st line and 2nd line departments many hours resolving issues. · Implemented a deeper use of Ghost software allowing the department to ghost developer applications such as Oracle and Cool:Gen saving many hours when having to rebuild developer workstations · Supported network and desktop printers and other peripherals to a 3rd line level on a day to day basis and assisted in the move to a HP supported driver and print solution. Wrote work instructions to an ISO level for new software installs and departmental processes. |

Contract – Staffordshire County Council – Jan 09 – Oct 09 Purpose of contract: Feasibility Study of the ICT Systems. Key Responsibilities: Integrate ITBM Touchpaper Service Desk with LANDesk with the aim to improve the end to end process focussing primarily on procurement, configuration management, impact analysis and greater use of the support systems. During the study I primarily worked with SQL databases and Touchpaper importing data from various sources including LANDesk Management Suite, Active Directory, SQL, Excel and Access. Contract – Shropshire Housing Group - Apr 08 – October 08 Purpose of contract: Office move, handheld software integration, Citrix upgrades and remote site integration. Key Responsibilities: Engineer software working on PDA’s with Windows Mobile 5 and In4systems Promaster suite allowing the gas engineers to complete service schedules and wirelessly synchronise the service data with the database. Design network and telephone cable layout and liaise with a 3rd party to install the cabling. Provide various support tasks for both 2nd and 3rd line including the building and configuring of servers. Organised, installed several remote site broadband connections allowing for internet access and site to site VPN connections. Senior Infrastructure Analyst - EDS and Cap Gemini – HMRC Contract May 2001 – June 2007 Main purpose of job: Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support to over 10,000 users in 30 sites throughout the UK.
